The first Port Adelaide player nominated for the AFL's Rising Star in more than 2 years is the rangy and speedy defender, who was taken by the Power at pick 12 in this year's Mid-Season Rookie Draft and has played 10 games in a row since debuting in late June. Evans had a match-high 23 kicks (78.3% disposal efficiency) and ranked second for metres gained (631) in the side's 20-point victory over the Fremantle Dockers.
